Having read and thoroughly enjoyed Spellbound in His Arms, Ms Sefer’s first installment in The Greek Isles series, I picked up the second book and I'm glad I did. As a romance reader I crave for a happy ending, but I want some grit in the language or characters, and that’s not Ms Sefer’s style who opts for a sweeter approach. But the feel I get from her books remind me of my favorite classic mystery writers, MM Kaye and Mary Higgins Clark, who also chose exotic locations for their novels. I get the same fuzzy nostalgic feel that stays with me even after the reading ends. The story here is very well-paced, not description-heavy and the unexpected twists made me finish the book in two sittings in a single day.

If you enjoy sweet romances with a strong mystery vibe, Deadly Secrets will not disappoint you.

This is the second book in the Greek Isles Series and I must say, I thought it was even better than Spellbound in His Arms. Deadly Secrets was simply un-put-downable.

Helena arrives in the cosmopolitan Greek island of Mykonos on a long holiday from London in order to find her roots and hoping to unravel an old family mystery too. In the process, her life and the life of others are put in danger, and she also falls irrevocably in love. This reads in many ways like a Harlequin romance; the dislike between the two main protagonists, the second guessing, the misunderstandings, etc. It is not advisable to read this if you are put off by these elements. But, if like me, you enjoy this type of romance, then do not hesitate.

If anything, this book will transport you to the heart of the Greek summer in the Cyclades; the descriptions of the town of Mykonos are vivid and made me feel like I was back there. This book will highly intrigue and enthuse you, especially as the family secrets are many, the mystery intense and the villain is disclosed at the very end. Angel Sefer’s masterful story-telling will have you guessing all the time, enticing you to keep reading. I know I lost sleep over this, reading far longer into the night than I meant to. A cracking good read!
First time reading this author... good plot but unfortunately the story just dragged on and on. The ending was very predictable and ended abruptly.
It is so hard to find a consistently good writer, someone who not only writes well but gives a good story without feeling like it's a paint by numbers fill in (Nora Roberts). This was a great blend of mystery and romance that keeps you glued to your . I will be looking for more from this author in the future.
Angel Sefer does a terrific job of achieving a perfect blend of adventure, romance and mystery taking place on Mykonos, a beautiful Greek island in the Aegean sea. The main characters, Helena and Dimitris, are well fleshed out and completely believable, and her descriptions of the island are amazingly beautiful. If you are looking for a lovely romantic mystery, read this book. It won't disappoint you.
A fast paced suspenseful read. There were a couple of twists in this one. Nice romance as well. The locale was interesting. Weather I armchair visit or go in person, it's always nice to find out about other places in this world.

Deadly Secrets is a fascinating mystery masterfully blended with a sexy romance on a breathtaking Greek island. What more could I ask for? The plot was captivating, the characters fascinating with overwhelming feelings and conflicts, and, above all, there were the descriptions… I loved the descriptions of the island.
This novel is a great read for mystery romance lovers.
Talk about a page-turner! Fifteen minutes in and I realized this was Book 2 and I probably should be reading Book 1. The problem was I was so hooked by then I couldn’t abandon the story. Able to stand on its own (i.e., the author’s talent), the book’s backdrop is the Greek Isles, where the sparkling Aegean, white buildings, and fine Greek cuisine all play hosts to family secrets, inheritances, and an old, unsolved murder. Along comes Helena, saddened by her mother’s recent death in England on top of her father’s mysterious demise from years before. Returning to her childhood home and her slightly older aunt, Sophie, she encounters far more than she had bargained for. Complicated romantic relationships intermingling with past events and miscommunications all kept me glued to the novel and itching to know how it was all going to turn out. Not your typical romance novel, this one is a keeper! 5 stars.
