These memoirs also tell on how necessary it is to put the parents' own pain aside, to give their son the best opportunities for development and independence. They expect nothing but the child's wellbeing.
It is a personal and informative account of the challenges of raising a child with autism from a mother's perspective. Although it tells a poignant story, it overflows with courage and unconditional love. Its candor eloquently captures the grace of the human spirit through pains and triumphs.
It is a trip to acceptance, without abdicating.

The Child of Dawn ( Edition) by Belangela G. Tarazona

A beautifully written short story of Noah, a remarkable boy with Autism. It is heart warming and informative, showing the struggles and triumphs one family goes through on a daily basis with their son. At times I wanted to cry, others I cheer Noah on. A must read for those wanting to know more about Autism (or parents of children with this disorder.)I loved The Child of Dawn.

* This book was given to me as a gift.
As I imagined what it must have been like raising an autistic child, it brought me back to my own days of the birth of my daughter, along with its many trials and tribulations in the adventures of parenthood and its many fears and uncertainties. This book was a joy as well as a heartbreak to read and I was filled with many emotions from the power of love, having parental fears, days of sadness and a lot of feelings of triumph too. Well worth reading, it will fill your cup.
While I am not the parent of an autistic child I found this to be an amazing memoir. The slim volume covers all the significant moments from the author's pregnancy to Noah's birth to his diagnosis and beyond.

This is quite the emotional journey as we experience Belangela and Preben's joy and despair along with them. The author does not hold anything back and shares with us her deepest thoughts and feelings, making it all the more powerful.

This is a wonderful, touching story and provides a look into a world that most are reluctant to share. Whether you are the parent of an autistic child or not you are sure to enjoy this amazing book. I definitely recommend it.
The Child of Dawn is the type of book that delves into the world of autism and parenting an autistic child, unfolding a story of acceptance, determination, strength and ultimately... love. Belangela G. Tarazona offers readers a poignant, heartfelt and engaging read that manages to bring up a well of emotion and a great deal of honest insights into being a parent of an autistic child. The book is superbly written with an honest, warm and inviting tone and a smooth pace that allows readers to fully immerse themselves in the reality of autism. I think what makes this book so memorable is that is celebrates the love a parent has for their child (no matter the ups or downs) and the struggles of acceptance in each parent has to go through when face with an autistic child. Overall, this is an engaging and poignant read that grabbed my heart and kept me eagerly reading until the very end.
I found this book to be a deeply moving portrayal of a mother whose child has been diagnosed with autism. The account of a mother's experience raising an autistic child was very heartfelt, and at times incredibly poignant. I read this book as part of my research into autism, and I really appreciated the candid depiction of how this disability affects the parents of autistic children. This book provided me with a great insight into the mind of a mother whose child has a disability, which causes them to be viewed differently by society.

The real part of the story is her acceptance of her child's diagnosis and all that it brings with it. The writing flowed very nicely, and I found myself immersed in the story very quickly. I would recommend this book to parents whose children have autism, as well as to teachers, caretakers, social workers, and others who have daily contact with autistic children.
